Good mental health is important for everyone. I believe it needs to be tackled at all levels, starting with managing cumulative stress. You cannot stop life being stressful, but you can address how you deal with that stress in order to live happily and with fulfilment.
Sharing your traumatic experiences, your problem thoughts, difficult feelings and challenging behaviours might be a daunting prospect. Some people have friends or family members who can provide a sounding-board, but you may not have this support network. In addition, you might have friends and family, but don't feel comfortable talking to them about your troubles. You might feel you don't want to be a burden.
'Book a Rant' (a registered trademark) is the title I have given to a counselling service that is accessible via 'Adult Counselling Therapy Limited'. The aim is to highlight the importance of eliminating the stigma around improving and maintaining mental health by giving the formal process an informal name.
Share your stressful experiences in a safe and confidential way that is tailored to you. The aim is to reduce the build up of daily stress by helping you gain a deeper awareness and understanding of how and why stress impacts you personally. The impacts might take the form of challenging thoughts, feelings or behaviour or any combination of these for example. There might also be different stress related symptoms that you are experiencing.
I cannot recommend talking therapy highly enough. There are many counsellors using many modalities, that help many people in the UK. This is what I do, Transactional Analysis is my approach to enabling you to be a better, brighter version of yourself.
Put simply, a good rant might be what is required to give you the confidence to move forward positively and productively to improve your current situation. It is beneficial to rant the right way. Ranting on social media is likely to exacerbate your situation and only add to your personal stress and negativity. This is where booking a rant with Adult Counselling Therapy can help.
Adult Counselling Therapy Offers two mediums for the 'Book a Rant' service. Online and in-person counselling.
To rant effectively online - You will need a safe, private space. Somewhere you can be fully present during our session and somewhere you will not be disturbed. The sessions last for 50 minutes and you will be able to think more clearly and get the most from the session if you stay hydrated so you might wish to have a drink of water with you. You might also like to consider having some tissues with you for comfort (provided during in-person counselling session), in case something you speak about triggers a powerful emotional reaction within you.
You might also consider having a pen/pencil and a note pad to hand. This will allow you to note down the things you would like to rant about prior to the session, so you do not forget. Also as you share what is troubling you, you might think of additional points you had not thought of previously. If you write these down as you rant, you will capture them in the moment and be able to thoroughly process your feelings on the matter. Please note, you do not need to make any notes during the sessions, this is merely a suggestion. You will be given the space to rant and reduce your cumulative stress during a productive exercise that is of value to you.
To use my prearranged in-person counselling service You will need to travel to my practice room in Stockbridge, Hampshire, UK for your sessions. There is free parking available on the road outside the address.
The difference between my 'BOOK A RANT' service and any other counselling service is that you get tailored support that involves talking to me. Arrangements will be at mutually convenient dates and times and will give you a regular, safe, confidential space to share without opinion, judgement or negative repercussions.
'BOOK A RANT'
Firstly, send an enquiry message via the contact page on this website or via email to contact@adultcounsellingtherapy.co.uk - I will then send you a 'Book a Rant' application form. This form will ask you for some personal details including what you are looking to gain from your sessions. The reason for this is so an initial assessment can be made as to whether I am the right therapist, with the right skills and qualifications, with the required availability, to suit you and meet your needs.
